Ralph Lauren Perfume Review

Ralph Lauren Perfume is one of the most widely recognized names in the fashion and perfume industries. From the very early days, Lauren had directed his fashions toward both men and women and has continued this trend with his distinctive perfumes, offering a range of outstanding fragrances for all occasions. His perfumes and colognes are sought after world-wide.

The fashion lines began in the early 1970s and his debut perfume 'Lauren Perfume' appeared in 1978. A floral scent, it was markedly feminine and elegant.

\"apple Tree\"

The 1970s are especially remembered for the styles of clothing, accessories and perfumes which appeared at that time; they were often "campy", and are easily recognizable as typical of that era. Lauren's approach was less influenced by the hippy culture of the day and was reminiscent of the elegance and style of the 40s. This proved to be insightful and began a trend for him which carried his work successfully into the following decades.

Ralph Lauren Perfume Review

Lauren's foray into perfumes gained momentum in the 90s, in particular with the release of Safari for Women (1990) which has many strong adherents who admire its blend of cedarwood, citrus, jasmine and rose.

He also developed the Polo brand for men with the 1994 release of Polo Sport Cologne, a masculine fragrance that drew upon bergamot, ginger, musk, lemon and rose for its fragrant notes.

A high point of the 90s was the release of Romance for Women (1998) a perfume especially suitable for evening wear. It also displayed his preference for the floral for women, blending musk, rose, ginger and violet.

The 2000s have seen many successful perfume and cologne releases, including Ralph for Women in 2001. This combined key floral fragrances with fruity ones to achieve an appealing feminine scent. It contains mandarin and apple tree leaves, along with yellow and purple freesia, magnolia, boronia, white orris, and musk.

In 2003 Lauren released two markedly feminine floral perfumes that are nonetheless distinctly different. These were Glamorous and Blue. Glamorous gained its appeal from a mixture of clementine, pear blossom, calla lily and Casablanca lily. On the other hand, Blue was refreshingly different, calling upon rose, gardenia, peony and musk. It is a lighter fragrance and is suitable for daytime wear.

2004 and 2005 continued the momentum with further releases, such as Cool, which tends to be fruitier with a touch of musk; Lauren Style, a more sensual scent that derives its fragrance from a blend of fruity scents with Bulgarian rose. It also includes nectarine, orange and tangerine blossoms, as well as lime.

The Ralph Lauren perfume range continues to grow in strength and even earlier releases, such as Safari (which had ceased production), have built up a following and demand for their continued sale.

Apples - Negative Calories at Their Best

Do apples have negative calories? Apples are one of the most popular negative calorie foods out there. They are great fruit that are both cheap and delicious. Who hasn't grown up remembering snacking on apples as a kid (and sorry - apple pie doesn't count)?

To answer the question about whether or not apples are negative calorie food, you have to look at the official list of foods for this diet. That list says that, indeed, apples count as part of the negative calorie diet.

Apples

This might seem surprising, since when many people think about a fruit or vegetable that might be "negative calorie," they assume that it has to be tasteless, or exotic. Neither is the case, as there are few fruits that are as tasty as the apple.

Apples - Negative Calories at Their Best

Negative Calories, however, do not refer to a type of calorie, but to foods on the negative calorie diet list which, in theory, can create a caloric deficit.

So what does all that fancy language mean? Apples are one of many fruits in a diet that has been referred to as the negative calorie diet, or zero calorie diet, or any similar derivative of those two names.

The theory is that if an apple you eat has 100 calories in it, but it takes your body 120 calories to digest it, then that apple has a total calorie effect of -20, because you took more to burn it off than it gave you.

While some of the expected foods, like celery and carrots, appear on the list, many people are surprised by the numbers and variety of fruit that are acceptable for this eating plan, including apples.

Negative calorie foods are only fruits and vegetables, and while not everything makes the list (you'll never find potatoes or coconut, for example), a lot of even common foods from these two major food groups are an accepted part of a zero calorie diet.

Knowing this information is helpful for many people who are trying to make this unique eating plan work for them. It's one thing to look at celery, bell peppers, and onions and try to figure out how to make these a major part of the diet, but it's much easier to do this with an apple.

Negative calorie foods are somewhat controversial, in that people argue if a caloric deficit actually ever takes place, but the good news if you're looking at this diet is that every food on here is healthy.

So go ahead and grab another apple! That's one food that won't be adding to your waistline!

Apple Cider Vinegar - Apple Cider Vinegar Helps With Gas Bloating & Constipation

Taking raw Apple Cider Vinegar is very important as we get older.

As we get older, we lose acid in our stomach. When we have less acid in our stomachs, it is harder for our bodies to digest food. We can get more gas, bloating, constipation or even anemia.

Apple

Apple cider vinegar contains acetic acid. Apple cider vinegar helps put the acid that we lose back into our stomach.

Apple Cider Vinegar - Apple Cider Vinegar Helps With Gas Bloating & Constipation

To some people, to drink ACV with water is nearly impossible as they can't stand the sour taste. The sour taste is a good thing, though, as that is what gives your stomach more acid.

A trick is to drink the Apple Cider vinegar in a small glass of grape juice or apple juice as it tends to disguise the taste.

Patricia Bragg... a famous health crusader, and the daughter of Paul Bragg... the man who opened the first health store in American and "invented" the most popular health store raw apple cider vinegar, recommends taking 1 to 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar a day.

Paul Bragg, by the way, died in his 90's. He didn't die a natural death, either. He died in a swimming accident. But he took apple cider vinegar and was able to swim and lift weights till a very old age.

Actually, Bragg had TB as a child and he was able to overcome it by eating properly, exercising and taking raw apple cider vinegar daily.

Paul Bragg made a pledge to God that he would teach the world about health since God spared him from dying of TB when he was young... and he sure kept his pledge.

The Deep Rooted Symbolism of Trees

Nature scenes including trees and forests contain multiple mythic and symbolic qualities. The deep-rooted meaning of trees is apparent in common metaphors such as the Tree of Life and our ancestral heritage depicted in family trees. In Vedic philosophy, wood is viewed as the primal material of the universe. Christians see Christ as the cosmic carpenter and His ultimate sacrifice is represented by a wooden cross.

Specific trees in art symbolism also have their own meanings. The oak is the mightiest of trees and symbolizes strength and courage. The ancient Romans thought oak trees attracted lightening and connected the oak tree to the sky god, Jupiter and his wife, Juno, the goddess of marriage. Thus, the oak is used in art symbolism as a symbol of conjugal fidelity and fulfillment. The oak tree was regarded by Socrates as an oracle tree. The Druids likewise ate acorns in preparation for prophesying. In addition, the Druids believed the leaves of the oak tree had the power to heal and renew strength.

\"apple Tree\"

The apple tree is symbolic of magic, youth, beauty and happiness. The cedar tree represents healing, cleansing and protection. Palm trees are symbolic of peace and opportunity. The symbolism associated with many other trees is summarized below:

The Deep Rooted Symbolism of Trees

Apple- magic, youth, beauty, happiness

Ash- sacrifice, sensitivity and higher awareness

Aspen- determination, overcoming fears and doubts

Beech- tolerance, past knowledge, softens over criticism

Birch- new beginnings, cleansing of past, vision quests

Cedar- healing, cleansing, protection

Cherry- death and rebirth, new awakenings

Cypress- understanding the role of sacrifice

Elder- birth and death, fairy realm

Elm- strength of will, intuition

Hazel- hidden wisdom, dousing, divination

Heather- healing from within, immortality, initiation

Holly- protection, overcoming of anger, spiritual warrior

Maple- balance, promise, practicality

Palm- peace and opportunity

Pine - creativity, life, longevity, immortality

Willow- magic, healing, inner vision, dreams

Choose an image of tree based on its symbolism to decorate your home or office. This will serve as an effective visual reminder of your goals and help you to fulfill your dreams and visions for your life.

The Pigman and Me, by Paul Zindel - Biography

Paul Zindel must have felt compelled by an irresistible force to expound upon a childhood that in a biography reads as well as his novels. Paul and Betty could just as well have been John and Lorraine just as Nonno Frankie became Angelo Pignati. Staten Island becomes as familiar as home just as the streets and avenues score themselves into our memories as the carvings on the desks we saw 280 days of each year in our own schools.

Zindel's family problems are reflected mirror-like in those of John and Lorraine, but other less personal problems, like racism and poverty (if they can be considered less personal than family) erupt with the clarity and lucidity of a sucker-punch. The combining of the two families under one roof is unusual but not unheard of just as the depiction of small town residents as zombies is obviously hyperbolic, yet, to some degree, credible.

\"apple Tree\"

Nonno Frankie's concern for the life of the apple tree symbolizes the deeper truths that form the foundation for moral behavior and stands majestically as a tribute to the lasting permanence of integrity that transcends the passing changes that overtake children in their pursuit of identity and the meaning of life. His incessant humor revives memories of undying, childish frivolousness so necessary for the bonding of friendships among children. Something has to offset the constant flood of disappointments and hurts that flow from the novelty of growing up in a strange and threatening environment. Nonno's pranks to wake up the zombies were analogous to the antics of John in the classroom, the mischievous behavior that should expected of normal, growing, young adults.

The Pigman and Me, by Paul Zindel - Biography

Sometimes, truth is stranger than fiction. If I were to include more than twenty Lassies in a story, it would be regarded as beyond belief. But, I did have twenty borzois at one time; so, the prospect is not inconceivable. Paul Zindel's life as described supports the credo that one should write based on experience. But, that does not undermine the potential for exercising extensive creativity that stretches the imagination beyond the threshold of belief through the willing suspension of disbelief. Fiction knows no bounds.

Evaluation: This biography is not essential to understand the novels that grew from Paul Zindel's experiences, but it helps to understand the mind that created the Pigman which itself personifies a universal ideology. The reading level is lower than the novels and far easier to understand. Hence, I see this narrative as a good basis for teaching characterization, setting, and dialogue as well as the idea of biographical sketches. The tone is simple and reader-friendly with enough humor to make the reading a pleasure rather a chore.

Recommendation: For the slow reader, this would be a motivating text to offer tasty tid-bits of the humor, philosophy, adventure, and emotional involvement that are more extensively offered in the novels of Paul Zindel. I would use it even for non-readers as a tool to break the shell of apathy since it would work well as story-telling material. It is not so much an autobigraphy as it is a preparatory statement to give pertinent background to answer inevitable questions.

Teaching: For advanced readers, I would use this as supplemental background information that confirms the tenet that good writing comes from real experiences. For less motivated readers, this text and styles lends itself well to emulation so that minimal success will reap greater rewards.

Relationship Advice: Words Can Hurt or Heal

"Stick and stones, may break my bones, but words will never hurt me."

Remember that little rhyme from childhood?

\"apple Tree\"

It's wrong.

Relationship Advice: Words Can Hurt or Heal

And more than that, it's a lie. Words are very powerful. Words can hurt or heal, build up or tear down, comfort or curse.

According to Mike Gordon, pastor at CenterPoint Church in Ocala, Fla., very few of us are prone to slice and dice our partner with our words.

At the same time, most of us are guilty of making little cuts, or "nicking" those we love with our words.

Have you nicked your partner lately?

And no, I do not mean shaving. I mean nicking with your words. The little cuts and jabs, the sarcasm and put-downs we sometimes carelessly throw out there.

It took me just about the entire first year of marriage to figure out that what some of my friends found hilarious, my wife did not find at all amusing at best, and cut and hurt her at worst.

Other folks excuse "nicking" as just being brutally honest. In my experience, most of the folks who brag about being brutally honest enjoy the brutality more than the honesty.

John Powell said, "The genius of communication is the ability to be both totally honest and totally kind at the same time."

The power of the tongue

Our tongue, and the words that come from it, has incredible power. Words have the power to hurt or to heal, to tear down or build up, and to curse or comfort.

How have you been using your words with the one you say you love? If you realize you have been doing some nicking up until now, here are two things you can do:

1) Make a commitment to use your words to comfort not curse, heal not hurt, build up not tear down

2) Go to your love and apologize for nicking in the past and let the one you love know you intend to change this bad habit. The words could be something like:

"I realize I have nicked you and hurt you with my words, and I apologize and hope you can forgive me. I'm also making a commitment to you to control my tongue in the future."

A word of warning as you apologize. I know of one gentlemen who apologized by saying "I need to tell you I am sorry for nicking you." Well, somehow what she heard was "I want to apologize for Nicky."

You can imagine how the conversation took an unexpected detour from there.

The above example, and the one below, demonstrate just how very much the words we choose to use matter to those we love.

Different words, different result

A country boy fell head over heels for a little girl who lived down the lane. The problem was, every time he got around her, his knees shook and he stammered when he tried to speak. He just had no clue about how to talk to this girl.

So one day he went to town and followed a city boy who was known for being good with the ladies, trying to pick up some tips. The country boy listened as the city boy looked deep into the eyes of his girlfriend and said "Your beauty could make time stand still."

"That's it!" he said, and rushed back to the country and found his girl. Taking her by the hand under the apple tree, he looked deep into her eyes and said, "Your face could stop a clock."

Same content. Different words. Very different result.

Remember, you have a choice, hurt or heal, tear down or build up, curse or comfort.

Which words would you like to use, and which words would you like to be used with you?

Holistic and Homeopathic Ways to Lower Your High Cholesterol

you've got high cholesterol huh? Well its not the end of the world. You might want to try some homeopathic (natural) remedies if you wish.

I think that I can help you although I am not a doctor but a retired RN and wouldn't wish you to think that the advice in this article can be substituted for competent medical advice. Wow what a mouthful. But I wanted you to know that.

\"apple Tree\"

Well lets get started. You will find in this article that there are a several natural remedies out there some interesting and might work and some just as far fetched as burying a thread and needle under a blooming apple tree to get rid of warts. That by the way is a tried and true NC recipe for getting rid of warts according to my wife. Some of the really potent medical remedies are the Statins family which are reputed to work very well but have some minor side effects like all medicines do and can be expensive. Simvastatin is one that I use. Zocor is its name and my cholesterol level is noted in the fourth paragraph . I can tell you that my doctor is pleased with its results.in lowering my cholesterol and no, I definitely am not on Zocor's payroll and do not receive one cent for making that claim..

Holistic and Homeopathic Ways to Lower Your High Cholesterol

This article though is about alternative or natural ingredients used in lowering high cholesterol and I can tell you some of their effects from personal experience as well.

You might say that having reached my almost seventieth birthday that I've been around the barn a few times. Several of those times had to deal with high and very high cholesterol levels and the subsequent effects of that. To put all this in proper perspective I am a cheeseburger junkie and a true lover of crisp and tasty fries. So what, you might say, there are a lot of cheeseburger lovers in the world and most of us hit the different fast food places for a dose at least daily if not more often.

I would have said that being a cheeseburger lover wasn't the end of the world except it almost was for me. I had a sudden and pretty bad heart attack in August 2005. The x-rays showed most of my arteries blocked and thus I required 5-bypasses and of course open-heart surgery. All from cheeseburgers? Nah, but the cumulative effects of high cholesterol and high calorie meals finally got me and I almost paid the ultimate price.

I have begun using alternative methods of treating my cholesterol as sort of a precaution . I figure that the Statin I am using will bring the cholesterol level down and it does a pretty good job but I figure that having an extra arrow in my quiver so to speak , made good sense. One of the extra things I have done too is go on a low fat, low cholesterol diet. Now don't get me wrong I am still eating a hamburger sometimes with cheese but not nearly as often as prior years. Now my hamburgers are maybe one every two weeks. I have cut those lovely crispy fries out totally other than a small one now and again from my wife's plate and have pretty much adhered to my doctor's recommendations on the food line.

The alternative methods that I use are all found in the local health food store. One method has in it kelp, barley green and brown rice. This has really worked wonders for my wife and now I am using it. She takes a level teaspoon in 6-8 ounces of water three times a day before she eats. I don't have any numbers from her cholesterol but mine is definitely down around 200. My good cholesterol is up in the 80's and bad down around 30 some. I have been using it for about 3 weeks and haven't had any trouble. I'm hesitant to give the name of the product but I am sure that you will be able to find it by telling the clerk in the store what the main ingredients are. I am interested in your experience with it so drop me an email at jim@mens-help.info and I will respond. The second natural alternative method is Flax Seed Oil. My brother-in-law swears by this and says that his cholesterol has really dropped using that ingredient. He takes one to three tablets a day and I think that is before meals but I am not sure of that. All I can tell you is that he feels that the Flax Seed really does the trick. To my knowledge he doesn't use anything else to get his cholesterol lowering effect. Also oats found in oatmeal cereals has a healthy effect upon cholesterol and according to the American Heart Association has a good effect on your heart. We all eat oatmeal several times a week. I might add that the eggs, bacon ( or what sometimes is called side meat), grits and biscuits have been cut way down. Probably we eat that maybe once every two to three weeks.

That is three alternative methods for lowering high cholesterol. For me, I have changed my diet to a low fat, low cholesterol diet, exercise 3 times a week at a Cardiac Rehab. Center and walk in between a mile a day on a walker at home. I am holding my own after a lifetime of excess in eating habits. I guess you could say that is about the best you can do.

Funny Gardening Stories

You might not think it, but gardening can be an exciting adventure. No, it's true. Really, it is. I can tell you the funniest stories about things that have happened to me in my garden. From creatures big to small, something funny happens every year!

I love the taste of fresh food picked straight from the garden. And so do the creatures in my garden. Sometimes I think all my effort is only for them. I remember once when my little apple tree finally grew an apple. "Tomorrow," I thought to myself. "Tomorrow I will pick the first and only apple that has grown on my apple tree and then I will eat it." Only I never got to pick my apple. A squirrel got to it first. Which I might not have minded so much, except that he only took two or three bites, decided he didn't like the apple and threw it away. I was almost tempted to eat the apple anyways, but I wasn't quite sure if that would be a good idea.

\"apple Tree\"

Another time, when I was a little girl, my dad had this pretty little crab apple tree. One autumn, the tree was full of crab apples and my dad promised that we would pick the crab apples when they were ready in a couple of days. The next day I went out to the garden to look at this wonderful crab apple tree. Much to my dismay, one of the branches had been broken off and all the crab apples on the branch were gone! During the night a bear had come along and eaten all of the crab apples. No crab apple jelly for me. But at least the bear didn't go hungry!

Funny Gardening Stories

Years ago, there was this beaver that would come up from the stream and onto our yard, just to eat the dandelions growing in the grass. He didn't want to move no matter what we were doing or how close we came to him. I have several pictures of the beaver eating the dandelions. He never even seemed to notice that I was standing right next to him in order to get a picture close up. Another time I was cutting the grass with a riding lawn mower and he didn't move at all, even when I came close to him. I finally had to leave that patch of lawn and cut it the next day. I sure do miss that beaver!

Peach Tattoo Design

If you're like me, you love a juicy, ripe peach that's just waiting to be devoured. Why not express that strong sentiment with a peach tattoo design? It's fairly uncommon to see this fruit depicted in body art, so you'll be assured of an ink piece that you won't see on every body at the beach. Indeed, the peach has been popular as a symbol for a long time, and it's not likely to lose its significance anytime soon. The peach tree is the second most widely grown tree in the world after the apple tree, so there's certainly a favorable ratio at work here: people everywhere know about peaches, but no one seems to have yet jumped on the bandwagon with a tattoo. Why don't you start the revolution with a great peach tattoo design?

Peaches gentle red and orange hues make them particularly attractive-you'll love the way the colors play against your skin. A well-done design will contrast just the right way, and the tattoos will almost melt into the background. Of course, you could go the other way, and make it as prominent as you want. These are issues that you should discuss with your tattoo artist; he or she will certainly point you on the right track.

\"apple Tree\"

Peaches are most strongly associated with the state of Georgia. Indeed, Georgia's nickname is actually "the Peach State"! If you're familiar with the Allman Brothers, one of the best bands from the 1970s, you'll know that they graced almost all of their artwork covers with peaches. There's something about these fresh, succulent fruits that no one can resist. Peaches grow best in the sultry sweat of summer heat, so they're automatically associated with great times in the hot sun. That means your tattoo is sure to be a hit at the beach. You could even turn into the peach guy or girl, if you keep a steady supply on hand.

Peach Tattoo Design

Do you love nectarines? You might be a devout fan of their great taste, but you probably didn't realize that they were actually peaches! While it's a common misconception that nectarines are a cross-breeded species between plums and peaches, they're actually just a fuzz-less variety of the latter.

Peach Tattoo Design

A great peach tattoo design [http://www.squidoo.com/peach-tattoo-design] is just a short stone's throw away at the local tattoo parlor. Head on over, sit down, and have a look through the books available to decide which peach tattoo design calls out to you. It's likely that one will jump straight off the pages. Within hours, you'll have a ripe peach residing right on your body. Just beware: people have been known to mistake it for the real thing, resulting in painful bites!

How Did Red and Green Become the Colors of Christmas?

The main colors of Christmas are red and green. Did you ever wonder why this is? The association of red and green with Christmas is worldwide. One can speculate and come up with lots of ideas about when and why these colors were first associated with Christmas.

Green comes from evergreens which have been used since ancient times to celebrate the winter solstice. In the early days of the Roman Catholic Church when the pagan rituals of the winter solstice were merged into the celebration of Christ's birth evergreens continued to be used. In winter solstice celebrations evergreens symbolized life that survived through the long, dark winters. The Christians thought of green as symbolizing the hope for eternal life that Jesus offers.

\"apple Tree\"

A commonly accepted explanation for the use of red and green is based on a historical fact. Back in the 1300's Adam and Eve's day was celebrated on Christmas Eve. Churches in those days presented a lot of plays because most people were illiterate. The plays were focused on religious stories of importance to the church and were called miracle plays. On Adam and Eve's day the play was called the paradise play and portrayed what happened in the garden of eden. There wasn't an apple tree available in the winter so they made one by tying apples to a pine tree and it served as the tree that bore the forbidden fruit. This pine tree with the red apples eventually became a tradition in all churches and was used in their Christmas celebrations every year.

How Did Red and Green Become the Colors of Christmas?

The tree became known as the Paradise Tree and soon people began erecting pine trees in their own homes during the holiday season decorated with red apples. This began the tradition of Christmas trees and the most popular explanation for the use of the colors of red and green for the holidays.

Another explanation is that green symbolizes the hope Jesus gave us through his sacrifice and is the color of evergreens which stay alive all year. Red is said to symbolize the blood of Christ in this explanation. The blood was shed by Jesus so that people could be saved and when combined with green it expresses the hope of our redemption through Christ sacrifice.

Holly is a popular Christmas decoration because it combines the color of green in its leaves with the red of its berries. Traditional Christmas wreaths have always been decorated with red bows and red berries. Santa Claus has always had a red costume and Rudolph the Reindeer has always had a red nose. These colors are here to stay and will always represent the holidays in most peoples minds.

Ideas For Sunday School - How to Get Your Students Excited About Learning

Children's church is the place for young people to join together and, under your wise guidance, learn about their religion. After conducting youth ministry for a significant period of time, it can become daunting coming up with new ideas for Sunday school. Here are some Bible activities that can help to spice up your lessons.

What is Goodness Sunday School Activity

\"apple Tree\"

This Bible lesson for kids reinforces the idea that God gives us the power to live through Jesus every day. First, have your students sit in a semi-circle and place a whiteboard in front of the group. Explain that this lesson will focus on one of God's greatest characteristics: His goodness.

Ideas For Sunday School - How to Get Your Students Excited About Learning

Ask your students to come up with other words meaning the same thing as "goodness" or "good." Either have a volunteer write these words on the whiteboard, or write each word yourself. Some common words that may come up include: honorable, super, excellent, wonderful, fantastic, marvelous, etc.

After your class has come up with a good amount of words, share the dictionary definition of "goodness" with them:

1. Excellence
2. Benevolence: being good to others
3. Morally good: be good
4. That which is desirable

Ask your students which of the definitions best describe God (the answer is mainly #1 and #4). Now continue to bring up God's goodness throughout that day's Sunday school curriculum.

Garden of Eden Bible Lesson

This is a creative and simple Bible craft that will get your kids excited. First, tell your children the story of Adam and Eve, and then focus on creating a garden of Eden with this craft.

Hand out a piece of construction paper to each child, and provide each group of children with finger paints. Explain that it's the kids' chance to show what they think the garden of Eden looked like. Encourage them to draw trees (particularly an apple tree), a serpent, the sun, grass, flowers, clouds, etc. At the end of the Bible lesson, your kids will have a great picture to take home to the rest of their family!

These are just two Sunday school ideas that are sure to excite your class, getting them more interested in learning about the teachings of the Bible.

Lego Building Instruction Books are excellent educational tools developed by Lego. They also have a bevy of Lego Education Centers. They like to think that engineers, architects, scientists and designers have their genesis in these centers.

LEGO centers claim to provide a safe, inspirational atmosphere for young creative minds. They focus on and develop the following areas:

\"apple Tree\"

o Concentration

Lego Building Instruction Books

o Self-confidence

o Innovation

o Team-work

o Spatial intelligence

Perhaps a small historical journey is appropriate at this point. The LEGO Group was founded in 1932 by Ole Kirk Christiansen. He was the inventor of the LEGO bricks. Christiansen desired a total world-wide involvement by the group.

"Only the best is good enough" was his motto. The LEGO team says that 'today we still involve that spirit in every way we operate.'

With this as a backdrop, we are now faced with their recent announcement. Here is the headlines: "LEGO Says It's Running Out Of Toys For Christmas"

What a disappointing turn of events. To whom much is given-much is required. They have fallen a long way away from their stated motto, "Only the best is good enough" What does LEGO suggest we do with our Lego Building Instruction Books? We have no LEGO building blocks!

What would Mr. Christiansen say about this mess? They've been in business for almost 75 years. Did the coming of Christmas 2006 catch them unawares? How did they prepare for the other 73 Christmases? How could they run out of toys for Christmas?

Many of us were raised on LEGO toys. I had hours and hours of fun playing with my LEGO. So did my children and now my grandson. What does LEGO suggest we tell our children?

Amazing Healing Uses of Apples - Medicinal Miracle Fruit

Everyone has heard the adage, an apple a day keeps the doctor away. Indeed it proves to be true. In varying forms ingested or used externally, apples can help cure various ailments without having to use OTC drugs or even prescriptions.

Dating back to ancient times, Apples have been utilized as a medicinal health resource, cleaning agent and even a food preservative. You often hear from an older relative how they may have used an apple slice to keep cake fresh or used apple cider vinegar to treat a sore throat.

Apples

You can help promote your health and reduce your costs at the pharmacy or local drug store by keeping your kitchen stocked with fresh apples and medicine cabinet complete with apple cider vinegar. Use apple cider vinegar at the onset of a cold, sore throat, relieve asthma, control blood sugar, address nighttime leg cramps, decrease mild depression, stop hiccups, lower blood pressure, treat indigestion, address arthritis or use as a daily tonic.

Amazing Healing Uses of Apples - Medicinal Miracle Fruit

Personally, I use organic apple cider vinegar for just about everything; especially as we approach the changing of the time and temperature that typically triggers the cold and flu season. I am a huge proponent of utilizing this form of apples since the fermented vinegar is rich in vitamins, minerals and trace elements like potassium, magnesium, calcium, iron, sulfur, phosphorus and healthy acids and enzymes. It is more concentrated and I prefer the brands that have a significant amount of sediment that rests at the bottom of the bottle...this is the good stuff.

It seems apple cider vinegar can address many of the reasons you would commonly make a run to your local CVS or Walgreens to buy a drug that may only just mask the symptoms and pain your feel. The benefit of apple cider vinegar is that you can treat the cause of your ailment thereby decreasing or completely eliminating your symptoms entirely.

How exactly does apple cider vinegar work? Or more importantly, why does apple cider vinegar work in remedy common ailments? In many cases, it's status as a miracle natural remedy is due in part to the result of the fermentation process: healthy enzymes, amino acids and the ability to balance PH levels in the body.

Internal Benefits & Treatments of Apple Cider Vinegar:

Reduces Lactic Acid buildup: muscle cramping,

Reduces inflammation of joints: arthritis

Maintains bone mass: osteoporosis and post-menopausal bone loss

Restores pH levels: colds, coughs, reduces headaches, indigestion, nasal congestion, ulcers, reduces yeast infections, promotes digestion and underweight condition
Adds Fiber via Pectin to body: lowers cholesterol, treats constipation and diarrhea, controls blood sugar levels,

Cleanses and detoxifies liver: treats mild depression, helps with weight loss

Contains antioxidants: protects eyes from cataracts and slows aging process

Antiseptic and disinfectant properties: kills harmful bacteria in the digestive tract related to food poisoning

External Benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar:

Promotes healing of skin: burns, cuts, rashes, sores from herpes, athlete's foot,

Controls ear infections or "swimmer's ear"

Reduces foot odor

Controls itching of skin, scalp: insect bites, dandruff, ringworm, herpes/cold sores, poison ivy and poison oak,

Prevents acne and blemishes on the face

Decrease appearance of varicose veins (wrap legs in apple cider soaked cloth for 30 minutes twice a day--shrinks veins in 6 weeks)

Brightens blond and dark hair (vinegar and water rinse)

Once you start using apple cider vinegar as a natural remedy daily or just to address sore throat; you will find that your trips to the store and doctor will decrease and will be as big a fan as I of this amazing, natural remedy.

These days, browsing the internet from mobile phones is a common occurrence. It is just as essential as making a call or sending a text message. The Apple iPhone 5 will allow you to surf the World Wide Web on the go. Although the Cupertino phone manufacturer has not released anything official about their highly anticipated smartphone, having an enhanced web browser as a feature is official.

The enhanced Safari web browser is an official addition to Apple's new iOS 5. Since the handset will come pre-installed with this updated mobile operating system, you are sure to enjoy browsing like never before. It comes with a number of features not found on previous versions.

Apple

Like in the past, this browser will allow you to enjoy more from tabbed browsing. This will allow you to access numerous websites simultaneously. You no longer have to visit and revisit websites on just one page. This can prove to be too time-consuming. Furthermore, you can save bookmarks. This will allow you to instantly access your favorite websites without having to type in the web address a second time. Again, this will save you a lot of time.

Aside from the usual features, there are also a couple of new features for you to enjoy. One of these new features is the Reader. Websites are filled with content and information that people look for. However, ads on these sites can prove to be a distraction. In addition, they can cause clutter. This cluttered effect is enough reason for some people to move on to the next website regardless if the content is what they have been looking for. This will not be the case on the Apple iPhone 5. With the Reader, you will get to enjoy clutter-free articles. All you see is the article you are interested in reading.

If you come across an article you find interesting, you can always come back to it if ever you do not have the time to read. You can always save the article on the Reading List for later reading. Don't worry about having to maneuver through complicated procedures just to save the digital content you want to save for later reading. With just a simple tap, you can save an article to the Reading List.

Other than being able to enjoy reading content without ads and saving articles on the Reading List for offline reading, all of the content you save for later reading can be accessed across your iOS-powered devices such as the iPad 2. These are the new Safari web browser features on the Apple iPhone 5.

Reflux Cure - Apples and Apple Cider Vinegar Are Effective Reflux Cures?

There are numerous acid reflux home remedies that promise results but what is the most effective reflux cure? Obviously, this is a difficult question to answer because many remedies work for one person and don't for another but many natural health researchers continue to point to apples!

But before you go and buy a bag of apples, you should learn the basics behind apples, apple cider vinegar and antacids. Far too many reflux sufferers naively take antacid after antacid and cause more harm than good.

Apples

If you suffer from acid reflux once a month, take an antacid! If you suffer from acid reflux more than once a week, learn how to naturally cure your reflux problem with a reflux remedy that cures the problem and not the symptoms.

Reflux Cure - Apples and Apple Cider Vinegar Are Effective Reflux Cures?

Cure the Problem and Not the Symptoms

Before you learn about apples and apple cider vinegar, it is important to know why antacids could ruin your health. Health education has always told us that everything should be done in moderation. And the same holds true with antacids.

Antacids work because they neutralize refluxed stomach acids (this is curing the symptom and not the problem). However, over time antacids could become harmful to your health if taken for an extended period of time. (Look at back label and notice that you should NOT take for more than 2 weeks or 14 days.) Most antacids contain excessive amounts of minerals such as sodium, aluminum, calcium and magnesium which can cause mineral imbalances in the body. These imbalances are so serious that the FDA put a warning on these antacids because of the links to cancer, hypertension and even Alzheimer 's disease. But there is a better option!

You can cure the problem with natural remedies. Researched natural remedies work because they work to cure the problem behind acid reflux, bile reflux, GERD and heartburn. If you suffer from any of the above, you most likely have a damaged lower esophageal sphincter and esophagus.

The sphincter is a muscle flap that sits atop the stomach which opens and closes to allow food in. An unhealthy sphincter can also allow stomach acid to be refluxed out. An esophagus is the tube that carries the food to the stomach. An unhealthy sphincter is common for reflux suffers.

And here is how you heal both your sphincter and esophagus and eventually cure your reflux problem. (Not the symptoms!)

Apples and Apple Cider Vinegar are Simple Reflux Cures

1. Apples are everywhere! You can find this delicious fruit everywhere from a grocery store to a gas station to even your backyard. And an apple is one of the simplest cures to treat acid reflux. Before your next reflux attack, try an apple instead of an antacid. Substitute an apple for an antacid.

For more information on this cure, read about why Bob Barton has been eating an apple a day since 70s. Visit our website today.

2. Did you know that many acid reflux cases are actually caused by too little acid in your stomach? This makes sense too. If there is too little acid in your stomach, the food and gas will be in your stomach longer without getting properly digested. And since apple cider vinegar is very acidic, it will aid in the digestion process and cure reflux before it starts.

Now What?

We recommend carrying a few slices of a red apple in a zip lock bag. We also recommend drinking a table spoon of apple cider vinegar in a cup of warm water with a squeeze of honey to hide taste. Both of these simple remedies could help you cure your reflux!
